About Mixtape Mood
Mixtape Mood turns how you feel into a mixtape of real songs. Say it in your own words, like "tired but hopeful" or "greek songs for a long dinner with friends", and you get twelve songs picked for that feeling, with a title, a short liner note and a cover in the mood's colours. It's free, there are no accounts, and it works in English, Greek, Russian and Hebrew.
How it works

Type a few words, tap a mood or two, and nudge the energy, mood and era sliders if you like. You can ask for a country, a language or a style too.
We press a mixtape
An AI (Anthropic's Claude) picks the songs, then every song is checked against music catalogues so you get real recordings, not made-up ones.
Listen where the music lives
Play 30-second previews right here, full songs in YouTube's player, or open the whole tape on YouTube, Spotify or Apple Music.
Keep it or share it
Your tapes stay in this browser under "My mixtapes". Rename them, save tapes friends send you, or share a link that lasts 90 days.

We don't host, download or sell music. Every song you hear plays from Apple or YouTube, and every link sends you to the service where the artist gets paid. Mixtape Mood is here to help you find the right songs for the moment, then get out of the way.
Questions
Is it really free?
Yes. There's no subscription and no account. To keep it free there's a fair daily number of mixtapes per browser, a few calm ads on some pages, and a Buy Me a Coffee link if you'd like to help.
Where are my mixtapes saved?
In your browser only, under "My mixtapes". Nothing is stored in an account, so clearing your browser's data for this site removes them. Share a tape if you want a link that works anywhere.
Why is there no 30-second preview for some songs?
Previews come from Apple, and not every recording has one. For those songs the play button opens a short preview in YouTube's player instead, and "Full song" always plays the whole track.
Are the songs real?
Every suggestion is checked against music catalogues (Apple Music, MusicBrainz, Discogs, YouTube) before it reaches you, and unconfirmed songs are dropped. Rarely one slips through or has the wrong year; if you spot one, let us know.
Can I ask for Greek, Russian or Hebrew songs, or a specific style?
Yes. Just say it in your mood, in any of the four languages, for example "ελληνικά τραγούδια για βροχερή Κυριακή" or "90s French rap for a night drive". The whole tape will follow it.
Is what I write private?
Your words are sent to our server and to the AI to make the mixtape, and they're not kept afterwards. A shared tape only includes your words if you tick the box. Our privacy policy explains everything.
Can I save a tape to YouTube, Spotify or Apple Music?
Open it as a YouTube playlist, no sign-in needed, and save it to your own YouTube account from there if you like. Every song also has links to Spotify and Apple Music.
What if my words sound like I'm struggling?
You'll still get a gentle mixtape, together with helpline information for your language. Mixtape Mood isn't a medical or emergency service; if you might be in danger, please call your local emergency number.
